The Dresden Symphony Orchestra celebrated its 25th birthday with an innovative double concert, where technology and music merged in surprising ways. This extraordinary performance took place on 12 and 13 October 2024 at HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts, offering the audience a unique opportunity to enjoy an unprecedented symphonic experience.

After an initial part in which the conductors led the musicians, the baton was passed to a very special colleague: a three-armed collaborative robot (cobot) from CeTI. This innovative technological tool demonstrated its ability to lead musicians through complex rhythmic passages, highlighting how robotics can expand the compositional and performative possibilities of music.

During the evening, an innovative choreography was also presented, created in collaboration with young talents from the Dresden-Johannstadt High School. A special feature of this project was SPOT, the dog robot from Boston Dynamics, which fascinated the audience with its dance skills, interacting playfully with the youngsters.

This event was a fascinating glimpse into the future of music and technology. With the combination of human talent and robotic innovations, the evening offered food for thought on the new frontiers of the arts.
