Curriculum Vitae<\/h3>\n

Kelsang Mende is a researcher at the IXLab within the Junior Professorship for Immersive Media Design at TU Dresden. His work focuses on the development of XR applications that balance usability, cognitive immersion, and effective scientific communication. He holds a Master\u2019s degree in
\nProduct and Communication Design from the University of Applied Sciences Dresden. Since joining TU Dresden in 2023, he has contributed to projects on neuroimaging of brain activity in XR as well as to the DataSpaces project at the Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences (CIDS), an interactive exhibition platform that renders complex research accessible through immersive experiences and public engagement. Through these projects, he investigates which tools are required\u2014and which must be further developed\u2014to enable effective science communication and to support researchers in making their work visible and accessible<\/p>\n

    What are the main topics or questions that drive your research?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    My primary research interests concern the integration of usability principles with extended reality (XR) applications within scientific contexts.<\/p>\n

    What inspired you to pursue your current field of work?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    My work is motivated by the growing need for effective science communication. In particular, complex scientific findings must be rendered both visible and comprehensible to diverse audiences. Beyond mere accessibility, I aim to foster meaningful engagement by enabling individuals without prior expertise to interact with and explore scientific challenges.<\/p>\n

    What excites you most about being part of CeTI?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    The most compelling aspect of CeTI, in my view, is its dynamic and highly interdisciplinary network, which fosters rapid and in-depth exchange across diverse scientific domains. I particularly value the opportunity for immediate and constructive feedback, as it enables more meaningful and reflexive research processes.<\/p>\n

    Which challenge or question has recently sparked your curiosity?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    The intersection of computational science and psychology is particularly compelling, as these disciplines complement one another in substantive and mutually reinforcing ways.<\/p>\n

    How do you like to recharge or spend your time outside of work?<\/strong><\/h4>\n
