Curriculum Vitae

Evelyn Muschter is a postdoctoral researcher at CeTI. She contributes to human-in-the-loop research, specifically focusing on tactile and multisensory human perception and action. Evelyn’s interests are in particular in the role of attention and live span development in perception and brain oscillations. She investigates methodologies, procedures and techniques to connect neuroscience with technology and technology development. To this aim, Evelyn uses a variety of experimental techniques including psychophysics and neurophysiological measures.
Previously, Evelyn has worked on her doctoral research on The construction of perceptual space-time through brain oscillations and completed her PhD in Brain and Cognitive Science in the Mechanisms of Active Perception Group at CIMeC / University of Trento, Italy. She holds a Master in Cognitive Science from CIMeC /University of Trento, Italy and a Bachelor in Psychology from Cleveland State University, USA.

Projects/Cooperation within CeTI you are involved in:

• Human perception guided development and evaluation of haptic codecs
• Human behavior informed machine learning
• Evaluation and development of TaHiL devices

What do you value most about your work at CeTI?

The collaborative atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoy working on interdisciplinary projects at CeTI. This allows me to extend my toolbox with new methods and techniques that allow me to collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines.

What was your best moment at CeTI so far?

Oh I cannot choose one, perhaps the best is yet to come…

What else would you like to research?

How people are going to use the Tactile Internet and new TaHiL technologies, not just today but also in the future.

How do you spend your spare time?

On my gravel bike or scuba diving.
