In the Experimental OR (ExOR) of the National Center for Tumor Diseases Dresden, robot-assisted surgery is performed on a phantom by a surgeon in collaboration with the EndoMersion endoscope robot. The surgeon wears a CeTI glove, a sensor bodysuit, and an Enari sleeve, capturing body data for analysis and skill capture. Engineers and researchers can observe live streams of the sensor data and a room camera to assess the digital twin’s coherence with the real world. A remote expert can see the endoscopic video and provide tele-mentoring assistance in VR, controlling the endoscope robot via a VR headset and annotating the endoscope video to assist the surgeon in performing the operation in the ExOR.
