My name is Matthias and I studied electrical engineering with a specialization in information technology at TU Dresden and now work as a research assistant at the Chair of Highly Parallel VLSI Systems and Neuromicroelectronics.

What was your favorite subject?

My favorite subjects at school were computer science, math and physics.

What was your dream job as a child?

As a child, I always wanted to do something with technology.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

In my free time, I like to play the piano, also with other musicians, and do sports, including bouldering.

Do you prefer coffee or tea?

I drink coffee for breakfast, but in the afternoon I prefer tea.

What do you like about Dresden?

What I like about Dresden is that it’s so big, there’s everything in the city, but it’s also small enough that you can get to the countryside relatively quickly from anywhere.
