I’m Philippa and I studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Dresden. I specialized in processing and textile mechanical engineering during my main studies. Today I work at the TU Dresden, at the Institute for Textile Machinery and Textile High-Performance Materials Technology (ITM) as a research assistant.

What were you like at school?

I was a good student. I particularly enjoyed languages and art.

What was your dream job as a child?

I really wanted to be a fashion designer. I even thought about enrolling at university.

What do you like to do most in your free time?

Creating something new. That means crafting, building and sewing or anything where you can let off steam creatively.

Do you prefer coffee or tea?

Definitely coffee. Preferably in the form of a cappuccino.

What do you like about Dresden?

Many things… Above all, that the city is not that big but still has a lot to offer. And that Dresden is very diverse in terms of things to do: party, culture and nature.
