Curriculum Vitae

Robert Rosenkranz is a research associate at the Chair of Acoustic and Haptic Engineering, TU Dresden, Germany. He received his degree in information systems technology in 2011 at TU Dresden, Germany, where he also worked for his Ph.D. degree. His research areas of interest include haptic perception, vibrotactile feedback, virtual reality and the plausibility illusion. Currently, he is working on sound and vibration design in automotive vehicle applications for human perception and information delivery and on the generation of plausible tactile virtual environments.

Projects/Cooperation within CeTI you are involved in:

• Spine bend feedback for Box Lifting Task (U3, with Luca Oppici)
• Neurocognitive mechanisms of multisensory perception in VR/AR environments (TP1, K3, with Kathleen Kang and Shu Chen Li)
• Rock Paper Scissors Demo (TP2, U3)
• U3 Joint Paper (U3)

What do you value most about your work at CeTI?

Perception based engineering has always been my main research interest. Naturally, I also like CeTI for being so interdisciplinary, i.e. combining engineering and human factors.

What was your best moment at CeTI so far?

Finding intersections between by research and the research of other CeTI members.

What else would you like to research?

Tactile quality prediction, perception of virtual environments and authoring tactile content for virtual environments.

How do you spend your spare time?

With my family, hiking, and reading about other interesting research, e.g. from the economics or psychology field.
