The Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden launched the exhibition “Artificial Intelligence Machines Learning Human Dreams” in November 6, 2021. Here, the Centre for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop (CeTI) at TU Dresden, Else Kröner Fresenius Center (EKFZ) for Digital Health at TU Dresden and the National Center for Tumor Diseases Dresden (NCT/UCC) support the exhibition. Researchers are developing AI-based assistance systems for cancer surgery. Artificial intelligence will be used here to display important information to surgeons during operations based on the situation – for example, the optimal incision line – or to predict the need for surgical instruments. It can also be used to navigate an assisting robotic arm in real time or to make learning progress during keyhole operations objectively measurable. In particular, the new special exhibition highlights how the use of AI systems will gradually change our understanding of everyday life, mobility, work, health and politics.
