Exploring Robotics and the Tactile Internet with 500 Young Minds
This Friday, around 500 young people gathered at Kraftwerk Mitte Dresden for TINCON, a festival dedicated to digital youth culture. The event was free of charge, open to everyone aged 13 to 25, and aimed at encouraging curiosity and engagement with technology, creativity, and innovation.
Together with colleagues from the Forschungsnetzwerk Smarte KI-basierte Robotik (SKR) and the Robotics Institute Germany, we provided insights into our research on robotics, human-machine interaction, and the concept of the tactile internet.
At Level Up!, visitors had the opportunity to experiment interactively with a real robot arm, requiring no prior knowledge. The MiniSphere offered an additional perspective, allowing participants to explore robotic systems at close range. A particular highlight was Spot, the robot dog, demonstrating how robotics can support humans in demanding and potentially hazardous environments.
We would like to thank TINCON for this excellent event and for giving the younger generation the opportunity to engage directly with cutting-edge research.
