Successful Third Round Strengthens Career Paths in STEM
On December 4, 2025, the third round of the Join Science mentoring program at TU Dresden came to a successful close. Over eight months, 19 STEM students and 7 early-career researchers took part in workshops, trainings, and mentoring sessions aimed at career orientation and exploring pathways into academic research. The outcome was remarkable: almost one third of the participating students now plan to pursue a doctorate after completing their master’s degree.
The first half of the program centered on self-reflection, personal strengths, and long-term career goals. The second half focused on digital and methodological skills, professional self-presentation, and the responsible use of AI in academic work. Individual mentoring sessions and insights into the mentors’ workplaces offered valuable practical perspectives on daily research life.
The program was made possible thanks to the support of the participating research departments, including CeTI. From CeTI, Dr. Lize van der Linden and Lisa-Marie Lüneburg accompanied seven students on their journey toward a possible scientific career.
Join Science will continue next year with its fourth round. Further information and registration: https://tud.link/sbcv19
