Curriculum Vitae
I am a PhD researcher at the Chair of Acoustics and Haptics at TU Dresden and part of the Cluster of Excellence CeTI.
I first came into contact with CeTI during my diploma thesis, which I completed at the Chair of Acoustics and Haptics within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
Through my thesis work, I gained insight into the interdisciplinary research environment of CeTI and its approach to human-centred technologies. This experience sparked my interest in CeTI and motivated me to continue my academic work within the cluster.
Based on this background, I am now conducting my doctoral research at TU Dresden as part of CeTI, focusing on acoustics and haptics in the context of human–machine interaction.
Projects/Cooperation within CeTI you are involved in:
- the development of a wearable, multichannel, semantic-coded tactile synthesizer glove
- fundamental research and practical applications in the field of wearable haptics
What are the main topics or questions that drive your research?
- How can immersive experiences in virtual reality, augmented reality and teleoperation be enhanced through tactile feedback?
- Which tactile coding strategies are suitable for effective haptic communication?
What inspired you to pursue your current field of work?
My previous research on the perception of whole-body vibration demonstrated that users’ emotional responses can be predicted based on descriptive evaluations of vibration stimuli. As my current work focuses on tactile perception through the hands, I aim to transfer and adapt this knowledge to the field of wearable haptics.
What excites you most about being part of CeTI?
I am particularly excited about the opportunity to collaborate with a highly experienced and interdisciplinary research team. CeTI offers an inspiring environment for continuous personal and scientific development through workshops, events, and joint research projects.
Which challenge or question has recently sparked your curiosity?
Is it possible to develop wearable haptic systems that enable plausible and intuitive haptic communication?
How do you like to recharge or spend your time outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, but I usually go to the gym to do bodyweight training, such as calisthenics but I also enjoy attending festivals.
