Curriculum Vitae

Emre Faik Gökçe received his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in 2022 and his Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in 2025, both in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), with a focus on signal processing and artificial intelligence. Since November 2025, he has been a Research Assistant at the Chair of Media Technology at TUM and a part of the Center for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop (CeTI). His research interests lie in artificial intelligence, with a particular emphasis on human activity understanding and AI-driven robotics.

What are the main topics or questions that drive your research?

My research interests lie in artificial intelligence with a focus on human-machine interaction, particularly in the context of human activity understanding and AI-driven robotics. I am currently driven by the question of how multimodal approaches can enhance remote and interactive systems, enabling more effective and intuitive human-machine interfaces.

What inspired you to pursue your current field of work?

I have always wanted to work at the forefront of impactful research. The AI and engineering aspects happened to be a natural byproduct of this pursuit.

What excites you most about being part of CeTI?

What excites me most about being part of CeTI is its strong interdisciplinary character with high-impact real-world use-cases. Working among multiple disciplines on challenging problems not only creates a great learning environment but also allows research outcomes to have meaningful societal and technological impact, which I find highly motivating.

Which challenge or question has recently sparked your curiosity?

How can the integration of tactile information into human-machine interaction systems improve higher-level semantic understanding, human activity understanding, intent prediction and robot learning?

How do you like to recharge or spend your time outside of work?

I enjoy spending my time outside of work with friends, whether that’s going to concerts or the cinema, or simply having a drink together. I also like making music and jamming with other musicians.
