My name is Florian and I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Clothing Technology at Albstadt-Sigmaringen University and my Master’s degree in Textiles and Clothing – Technical Textiles at Reutlingen University. I work as a research assistant at the Institute of Textile Machinery and High-Performance Materials Technology (ITM) and am doing my doctorate at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

What was your dream job as a child?

The first job I can remember wanting was to be an inventor. Funnily enough, this is very much in the direction of what I do today.

How were you at school?

I would say quite good, but definitely not the best. I’ve always had the disposition to only deal with things that really interest me or that arouse my interest.

Do you prefer coffee or tea?

Definitely tea

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

There are lots of different things, my favorite of course is hanging out with my friends. Otherwise, I like being part of the Dresden State Theatre’s Citizens’ Stage, I spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer, I also like doing handicrafts and I love playing card and board games.

What do you like about Dresden?

I live near the Elbe, which isn’t that difficult in Dresden, and I really appreciate the Elbe meadows, as they’re great for walking and clearing your head. Dresden is basically a very diverse city with a special flair. Otherwise, I like the diverse cultural offerings, be it theater, museums or the DAVE Festival, and there are some very good clubs here.
