Through this new research network, Saxony’s universities and research institutions are pooling their research expertise to develop the robotics solutions of the future.
The new research network “Smarte KI-basierte Robotik (SKR)” was launched with a ceremonial kickoff event. The network’s goal is to create new avenues for innovation and technology transfer by pooling Saxony’s cutting-edge research in the field of smart AI-based robotics. The kick-off event took place with the participation of the Saxon State Ministry of Science, Culture, and Tourism (SMWK) and futureSAX. In her opening remarks, State Secretary Prof. Dr. Heike Graßmann emphasized the central importance of funded research networks for Saxony as a hub for science and innovation. She highlighted how crucial targeted support for interdisciplinary collaboration is to strengthening Saxony’s position as a center for research and innovation.
Together with HTW Dresden and Fraunhofer IWU, we are establishing a Saxony-wide research network that brings robotics and its applications to industry and society.
To kick off the project, Prof. Frank Fitzek, the cluster’s speaker, provided insights into how the network fits into the existing regional and national robotics landscape, as well as how synergies will be created.
