The young generation of women in Germany has a particularly good school education. Nevertheless, girls still decide disproportionately often in favor of “typically female” occupational fields or subjects when choosing their training and studies. As a result, they do not make full use of their career opportunities; however, companies are increasingly lacking qualified employees, particularly in the STEM sector. STEM stands for exciting and varied professions in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology. The Girls’Day Academy Dresden is aimed at girls who want to get to grips with modern technology during the career orientation phase and learn about scientific content through practical work at various educational partners such as companies and universities.
Still no idea what you want to be? If you are interested in science and technology and would simply like to get a taste of different professions, the Girls’ Day Academy Dresden is the right place for you. Girls* in grades 7-9 have the opportunity to experiment, research, program and get to know various Dresden companies and universities. And simply to be among girls*.
The academy meets regularly once a week after school. The various activities are attended together or online events are arranged.
* The offer is only aimed at girls from Dresden and the surrounding area
