The third edition of the Dresden Communication Festival took place from 8 to 12 May. It was a versatile week full of scientific dialogues, interesting lectures and new innovations.
The main event for our CeTI Cluster of Excellence was the General Assembly on 8 and 9 May at the Dresden Congress Centre. The agenda included presentations and the introduction of our new professors, as well as scientific speed dating and a demo tour.
During the speed dating, researchers had the opportunity to tell their counterparts about their current research in four minutes, before the gong rang and we started again. In this way, they got to know each other better and had the opportunity to expand their network of contacts.
On Wednesday morning it was time for the demo tour. The scientists were able to present the results of their research on the tactile Internet. At each stand there was something exciting to discover, from robots to surgical assistance systems to smart clothes. Everyone was able to try things out to their heart’s content.
From Wednesday to Thursday we attended another event at the Dresden Communications Festival: the IEEE 6G Summit at the Messe Dresden. International representatives from science and industry met here to exchange ideas on the future of mobile communication. The Summit was the perfect opportunity to present our new demonstrators, e.g. on molecular communication.
Overall, the week was very inspiring for us and we are looking forward to the next one.
