We just wrapped up two incredible days at the MINT-EC Future Forum 2026, where the TUD transformed into a vibrant melting pot of inspiration. We were thrilled to welcome the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators to explore the boundaries of what is possible in the STEM fields. At CeTI, our mission is to democratize access to skills and expertise through technology. Seeing the bright minds of the MINT-EC network engage so passionately with our research was a powerful reminder of why this mission matters.

Throughout several interactive sessions, our CeTIBAR was transformed into a hands-on laboratory where students didn’t just hear about our core research, they felt it. By engaging with various demonstrators, they explored the intricate balance of haptic feedback, low-latency communication, and the seamless integration of humans and machines. These practical experiences allowed the participants to understand firsthand how the transmission of touch over distances and the precision of robotic systems will shape our digital future.

A definitive highlight of the forum was the keynote by Prof. Stefanie Speidel. In her captivating talk, “Dr. Robot, please to the OR – Artificial Intelligence in the Operating Room of the Future,” she pulled back the curtain on the next frontier of medical technology. She demonstrated how AI and robotics are not replacing surgeons but rather empowering them with “superhuman” precision and real-time data, ultimately setting new standards for patient safety and surgical outcomes.

Events like the MINT-EC Future Forum are crucial for bridging the gap between high-school excellence and cutting-edge academic research. The sophisticated questions asked by these students prove that they are not just observers of the digital transformation, they are ready to lead it. We are proud to support these young talents as they prepare to become the innovators of tomorrow.
